Ribby Cardi has begun

My 2nd sweater is officially on the needles, and I think it's pretty reasonable to expect to wear it this winter. It better be because I've got 3 others behind it. Yes, I'm a sweater aholic. The pattern is from Chicknits and I'm using Knit Picks Wool of the Andes - which I'm pleasantly surprised with given the totally to die for price. The plies aren't super tight, but once it's knit I'm not noticing it.

I decided to tweak the pattern and do the body in one piece until the yoke part. I also decided to do the sleeves on double pointed needles in the round. No, I do not like seaming and after reading The Sweater Workshop (which I highly, highly recommend), I am determined to get creative and avoid it whenever possible. Or at least until I get better at it, as in take a class or have someone hold my hand. I wasn't too pleased with how my Mariah seams turned out. So, someone knit their Ribby Cardi with seam minimization and I've decided to follow suit. We're going on vacation and it's a long ass drive, so I'm planning on getting lots of this done, as well as officially casting on for Rogue. And some socks. Yes, I'm ambitious.

Great colors! I thought about knitting the ribby cardi in one piece, but in the end didn't.. and it's all in pieces on my craft table. I figure I'll seam it up when it gets cool, right? :D
Glad you're back,I've missed you.
Oh, and your new pix, well it's so beautiful, it made me cry. :)
