I interrupt your regularly scheduled knitting news

to talk about infertility. I began knitting 6 months afer my first miscarriage. It was a way to pass the time, take my mind off trying to conceive, meet challenges and create tangibles when that wasn't happening in the arena I was most hoping it would.

My journey has been extremely difficult for me to talk about. Even with those who know me and love me the most. I do best with writing. It has been an alienating journey. It has been a heartbreaking journey. It has been the most difficult thing I have ever tried to do. It has been my Olympics, my marathon, my triathalon, my Mt. Everest.

K introduced me to the blog Stirrup Queens and Sperm Palace Jesters. Oh yeah, infertility can bring out the best in creativity. They've started a movement called Common Threads. It's the "secret handshake" for those who struggle with and those who have struggled with infertility. It's one way to share the journey and know we're not alone.
